Holiday spots to boost your Vitamin D
The sun is a great source of vitamin D, and with summer on the horizon it’s a great time to start thinking about the best locations to boost your vitamin D levels all while taking some time out to unwind and relax.
You can easily boost your vitamin D from your own backyard, but here are a few of our favourite vitamin D soaked holiday destinations.
Sunshine Coast, Australia
This north-east stretch of shoreline in Australia’s very own Queensland makes for an ideal holiday destination. With activities for every age and fitness level there’s something that should interest you. Whether it’s taking some time out and relaxing on the waterfront or challenging yourself by hiking through the Glass House Mountains. You could even try scuba diving or paddle boarding or perhaps take in a round of golf on world class golf courses. Whatever your holiday style, there’s something to help you get outside and boost your vitamin D levels.
Coromandel, New Zealand
The Coromandel Peninsula is a favourite for many Kiwis due to its secret beaches, gorgeous holiday homes and incredible vistas. It’s located a couple of hours south of Auckland along the coast of the North Island so is easily accessible by a quick flight and short drive. Head this way for all the beauty of New Zealand under blue skies and bright sunshine.
Cote D’Azure, France
If you’re lucky to be able to travel abroad, there are few places more idyllic and sunny than on France’s Cote D’Azure. With Over 300 days of sunshine every year, this southern French area is internationally known for golden beaches, quiet towns and wonderful food. You’ll also be able to soak up plenty of vitamin D whether you’re relaxing on the beach or exploring the local areas. Our biggest tip is to always remember to be sun smart however. Getting burnt is not the same thing as getting some vitamin D, so make sure you remember to apply and reapply sunscreen when necessary.
